Day 2: We continued our trip to Peniche. This morning we visited Óbidos, with its beautiful views. We also visited the Varanda of Pilatos, a rocky and very pretty spot. In the afternoon, we took a boat to the Berlengas Islands, a popular tourist destination where we visited its castle. Day 3: Today we helped clean the beaches of Peniche and had our first surf lesson! We were also lucky enough to encounter the Virgin of Fatima, the town’s patron saint, to end our day.
Estos días han sido entretenidos y aprovechados. Hemos disfrutado las playas y dunas. Además de las maravillosas vistas del océano Atlántico.
Hoy hemos podido conocer el instituto portugués AEDLA. Además de descubrir más partes de Peniche gracias a nuestros compañeros portugueses. Por último, hemos tenido el gran placer de poder conocer el alcalde.
This days have been full of adventure. We’ve enjoyed the beaches and sand dunes as well as the amazing views of the Atlantic ocean.
Today we were able to visit the portugués high school AEDLA as well as discover new parts of Peniche with our portuguese friends. Finally we had the pleasure of meeting peniche’s mayor.
Día 5: Despedida
En su último día de estancia en nuestro centro, el alumnado croata recibió los certificados de participación en el Programa Erasmus. Acto seguido, croatas y españoles realizaron la visita cultural del Castillo de San Miguel y Cueva Siete Palacios donde pudieron apreciar, de primera mano, la gran cantidad de restos arqueológicos de época fenicia, romana o musulmana al igual que comprendieron la importancia que tuvo la fortaleza sexitana desde el punto de vista económico, comercial o social. Una vez finalizada la visita, los estudiantes participaron en una gymkhana por el casco histórico de la ciudad a través de la app de ActionBound, aprendiendo algunas de las curiosidades de nuestra localidad de una manera más lúdica. Para concluir la jornada, profesorado y alumnado disfrutaron de un distendido almuerzo y tarde libre para así vivir sus últimos momentos y experiencias juntos.
Day 5: Farewell
On their final day at our school, the Croatian students were presented with certificates of participation in the Erasmus Programme. Immediately afterwards, the Croatian and Spanish students went on a cultural tour of San Miguel Castle and the Siete Palacios Cave, where they were able to see, first-hand, the wealth of archaeological remains from the Phoenician, Roman and Muslim periods, as well as gaining an understanding of the importance of the Sexitana fortress from an economic, commercial and social perspective. Once the visit was over, the students took part in a treasure hunt through the city’s historic centre using the ActionBound app, learning some of the interesting facts about our town in a more playful way. To round off the day, teachers and students enjoyed a relaxed lunch and a free afternoon to savour their final moments and experiences together.
Día 3: Observación de clases
En su tercer día, los institutos de Portugal y Croacia han observado de forma activa algunas de las materias que se imparten en el centro. Para comenzar, los croatas han trabajado unos “Pósters Culturales” sobre la música, la gastronomía. las festividades o las expresiones más típicas de España y Croacia con los estudiantes de 2º ESO A. Por su parte, el alumnado portugués ha trabajado la técnica artística llamada “cianotipia”, que consiste en preparar una emulsión fotosensible que se aplica sobre un papel y después se expone a la luz solar con objetos encima para reflejar la “sombra” de esos objetos. A continuación, recibieron una clase de Robótica donde aprendieron a crear aplicaciones en sus dispositivos móviles a través de la web “Thunkable” y de poner en práctica conocimientos básicos sobre programación. Para finalizar la jornada matutina, tanto profesores como alumnos participaron en una “Escape Room” donde tuvieron que superar una serie de retos en equipo con el objeto de aprender algunos conocimientos básicos sobre los valores democráticos europeos.
Por la tarde, tocó la visita cultural del Parque del Majuelo y el Palacete de la Najarra, aprendiendo así la importancia de las salazones fenicias al igual que los nombres de algunos de sus árboles tropicales. Asimismo, contemplaron los jardines del palacete y el interior de la Oficina de Turismo. Como broche final, tomamos unas fotografías en la Playa Puerta del Mar con el Peñón del Santo de fondo.
Day 3: Classroom observation
On their third day, the secondary schools from Portugal and Croatia actively observed some of the subjects taught at the school. To begin with, the Croatian students worked on ‘Cultural Posters’ focusing on music, gastronomy, festivities and the most typical expressions of Spain and Croatia with the students of 2nd ESO A. Meanwhile, the Portuguese students worked on the artistic technique known as “cyanotype”, which involves preparing a photosensitive emulsion that is applied to paper and then exposed to sunlight with objects placed on top to reflect the “shadow” of those objects. They then attended a robotics class where they learnt to create apps on their mobile devices using the ‘Thunkable’ website and to put basic programming knowledge into practice. To round off the morning, both teachers and pupils took part in an ‘Escape Room’ where they had to overcome a series of challenges as a team in order to learn some basic knowledge about European democratic values.
In the afternoon, it was time for a cultural visit to Majuelo Park and the Najarra Mansion, where they learnt about the importance of Phoenician salting techniques as well as the names of some of the tropical trees there. They also explored the mansion’s gardens and the interior of the Tourist Office. To round off the day, we took some photographs at Puerta del Mar Beach with the Peñón del Santo.
Día 1: Acogida
El pasado lunes acogimos a dos institutos de Peniche (Portugal) y Osijek (Croacia) para implementar sus proyectos Erasmus+. Primero, disfrutamos de un desayuno en la cafetería de nuestro centro y se hizo entrega de unas bolsas regalo proporcionadas por la Oficina de Turismo de Almuñécar. Acto seguido, los estudiantes realizaron exposiciones orales sobre su ciudad y sus respectivos centros educativos al igual que participaron en diversas actividades y juegos más comunicativos como “Find Someone Who” o “Speed Dating” con la intención de “romper el hielo” y empezar a conocerse entre ellos.
Tras un merecido almuerzo, por la tarde visitaron algunos de los Acueductos Romanos de nuestra localidad, quedando asombrados por su buen estado de conservación y siendo conscientes de su importancia en la antigüedad.
Día 2: Excursión a Granada
En su segundo día, estudiantes españoles, portugueses y croatas marchaban bien temprano hacia Granada. Como no podía ser de otra forma, su primera parada ha sido la visita de la Alhambra, donde contemplaron la belleza de sus palacios nazaríes, el perfeccionismo al detalle de sus formas geométricas, el policromado de sus paredes o el esplendor de los Jardines del Generalife. Asimismo, quedaron maravillados con algunas de sus leyendas como la de la “Torre de la Vela” o “Torre de la Cautiva”. A continuación, pusieron rumbo al Mirador de San Nicolás, otro lugar emblemático de la ciudad nazarí. Allí tuvieron la gran suerte de disfrutar de unas vistas maravillosas mientras escuchaban el “quejío” de un grupo flamenco al son de la guitarra. Para finalizar la jornada, disfrutaron de tiempo libre para callejear por el centro y hacer algunas compras.
Day 1: Welcome
Last Monday, we welcomed two secondary schools from Peniche (Portugal) and Osijek (Croatia) to launch their Erasmus+ projects. First, we enjoyed breakfast in our school’s canteen, and gift bags provided by the Almuñécar Tourist Office were handed out. The students then gave oral presentations about their cities and their respective schools, and took part in various ice-breaking activities and games such as ‘Find Someone Who’ and ‘Speed Dating’ to help them get to know one another.
After a well-deserved lunch, in the afternoon they visited some of the Roman aqueducts in our town, marvelling at how well-preserved they are and realising their importance in ancient times.
Day 2: Excursion to Granada
On their second day, Spanish, Portuguese and Croatian students set off very early for Granada. As was to be expected, their first stop was a visit to the Alhambra, where they marvelled at the beauty of its Nasrid palaces, the perfection of detail in its geometric forms, the polychrome decoration of its walls and the splendour of the Generalife Gardens. They were also captivated by some of its legends, such as that of the ‘Torre de la Vela’ or ‘Torre de la Cautiva’. They then made their way to the Mirador de San Nicolás, another iconic spot in the Nasrid city. There, they were very fortunate to enjoy wonderful views whilst listening to the ‘quejío’ of a flamenco group accompanied by guitar music. To round off the day, they had some free time to wander through the city centre and do some shopping.
El pasado martes 10 de marzo el alumnado de 1º y 2º de ESO pudo disfrutar un año más de las Jornadas de Atletismo organizadas por la Concejalía de Deportes de Almuñécar.
